Usually, yes. Most stacked units can be eased forward far enough to reach the transition connection behind them, and we protect the flooring and surrounding cabinetry while we work. If the clearance is too tight to disconnect anything safely, we stop and tell you what we found rather than force it.
The duct from my unit joins a shared vertical chase. Which part is mine to maintain?
The run inside your unit, up to the point where it enters the common chase, is normally the owner side of that line. The shared riser, any booster fan in it, and the roof termination are usually building property handled by the association. We clean the accessible portion on your side and report what we could observe beyond it.
Does my building need a certificate of insurance or a reserved service elevator before you arrive?
Many Highland Beach buildings ask for both. Send us the management office contact when you book and we will forward our paperwork in advance and take an appointment inside the window your building allows. We schedule Monday through Thursday 7am to 6pm and Friday 7am to 3pm.
Does salt air on an oceanfront elevation affect the exterior vent hood?
It can. Hoods, flaps, and dampers facing the ocean sit in constant salt spray, and a flap that has corroded partly open or partly shut may restrict airflow even when the duct behind it is clear. Where the termination is reachable we note its condition; on upper floors that hardware is often serviceable only from the building side.
